22 October 2020 – Enflow subsidiary Calder Ltd has been awarded a contract to supply multiple high-pressure waterjet pump units to an undisclosed global aquaculture player.
The pump units will be used primarily for net cleaning purposes of ocean-based fish farming cages.
“Calder has designed and manufactured an innovative and diverse range of high pressure pumping products since 1981. The team’s ingenuity allows it to continuously identify new market opportunities for its specialist high-pressure waterjetting competence. This latest contract with a global aquaculture player is another great example of Calder’s ability to innovate,” says Steve Paulsen, CEO of Enflow.
The pump units are based on Calder’s trusted MultiJet range and incorporate application-specific features to ensure they are ideally suited to ocean-based aquaculture projects.
Given the rugged and remote locations in which these units will operate, reliability and maintenance requirements are crucial. At the heart of the unit is the Hammelmann reciprocating plunger pump. This pump series is ideal for this application as it offers unrivalled reliability and long service intervals. The pump’s vertical orientation allows pump skids to be designed with small footprints – perfect when deck space is limited, which is often the case with aquaculture service vessels.
Design and manufacturing is conducted at Calder’s factory in Worcester, UK. The units will be backed up by full spares and service support.
"Calder has proven its waterjetting technology over four decades, which means that it is safe bet for fish farmers and service companies that want reliable, proven technology to help continuously improve fish welfare and biological conditions in its cages," adds Steve Paulsen.
